Anybody in there.

I did something I would usually never do.

I ordered something from the Internet. This is not unusual, what is unusual is the source I bought it from. I bought something on the Internet… from Hong Kong.

I’ve been looking for a flash replacement for my sunpak that I lost to a redistribution of wealth project. I found one thats nice and simple and cheap on a site called Gadget Infinity I was sceptically at first, but took the chance anyway.

The package was sent via airmail, which had me doubly worried that I’ll never get my package due to service levels in the South African Postal Services, but low and behold, The package arrived safe and sound.

Bravo Gadget Infinity and SAPO!

As a sign from the gods, I was chatting to a friend a couple of hours later and he asked me to join him in his new 365 day challenge. I figured the stars must have all lined up and this is a sign to get out and have some fun again.

So, here I am. Looking to see if I have what it takes to actually finish a 365 challenge.

Wish me luck.

Just out of interest – did Gadget Infinity use Hong Kong Post or China Post for shipping on their end? I couldn’t see immediately – do their prices include shipping, or is there a separate shipping charge?

They used Hong Kong Post and shipping was $13 on an order of R73 :)
